Attractions in Columbus
Topiary Garden
See a landscape of a painting of a landscape at the Topiary Garden, a recreation, using specially cut trees, of Georges Seurat's famous painting A Sunday on La Grande Jatte. The park has just about everything you see in the painting - with the addition of a gift shop.
German Village
A half mile south of downtown is this remarkably large (94ha/233ac), restored 19th-century German Village, with cobbled streets, decorative gardens and Italianate and Queen Anne architecture. The people who live there try to preserve the distinct cultural heritage of the area. The Village Society on S 3rd St provides self-tour guides.
Ohio Historical Center
The Ohio Historical Center has been changed from a fusty relic house to an interactive museum. For those planning to tour the Hopewell Indian sites, a visit is invaluable. After your serious research, you can join the kids and dress up in period costume.
